    Book Signing

The book signing was one of the best birthday presents I have ever had. When I was told the book signing was going to be on my birthday, I was a lil leery about that. Then I thought about it, a book signing on my birthday can be awesome. So I agreed.

I'm so glad that I decided to attend. It was a great experience and a few surprises. The room was filled with guest who support each of the attended authors. The dj and the entertainment was a nice touch and yes we enjoyed. One of the grandest moments was when the Mayor's Aide and Counsel Woman presented the attended authors with a Proclamation from Jersey City. That was a stamp of approval from the Mayor, and on my birthday. Yay!

They sang Happy Birthday to me, I received flowers and a few gifts. We signed books and met with some of the supporters of Domestic Violence Awareness. Domestic Violence is a very serious issue many women are facing world wide. It's not only in urban communities, many of our rich and famous are going through so form of domestic violence. Domestic Violence is caused by various reasons and if you are a victim of DV, please get out while you can still talk about. Call 911 or go to some one who you trust. I will pray for you.

    Unlock Your Dreams Conference

OMG! I am an Honoree! I received an award! This was a mind blowing event. I couldn't wait for this event to happen again. The last one was in 2008. And so many people were still talking about it. So needless to say, many were happy to attend again.

Unlock Your Dreams Conference was an event to honor those individuals who have unlocked their dreams either professional or personally. Age was not a factor at this event. One of the youngest honorees was a sweet young lady age 6. There were men an women from various professional backgrounds. And Trent Shelton blew some minds. Hey why not?!

ULYD | Unlock Your Dreams Conference | Shachena Gibbs | Trent Shelton | Lytoya Parker

Being one of the many honorees, I was able to not only receive a beautiful award but I was interviewed by a few media platforms. That was a great experience, more exposure for my business. Yay!

I didn't connect with any celebrity at this event however there were a few in the building that were worthy. Even some people considered me to be a celebrity and said they came to see me. I was blushing of course.

Look out for the next event by event producer Lytoya Parker

    Circle of Sisters: Making Connections

This weekend I attended on of the biggest events that take place in NYC every Fall season Circle of Sisters. This is a WBLS sponsored event where a host of vendors, entertainers, and spectators gather to have fun make connections and so much more.

Circle of Sisters takes place every year at Jacob Javitz Center on 34 th Street in NYC. This event is an affordable day/weekend social event for hundreds of people all over the US. I have met some vendors and guest that came all the way from California and Florida.

When I decided to attend Circle of Sisters, I had a goal to distribute my flyers for my upcoming event Rise to Power Achievement Celebration 13 on November 16, 2013 in NYC. I did just that and along the way I met some fabulous celebrities like Mona Scott Young, Dejavu of WBLS, Yolanda Adams and so many more. So my experience was far more that what I expected.

If you want to score some discounted tickets for Circle of Sisters 2014 visit their website or WBLS website and join their mailing list. The tickets are usually $10 per day. Sometime they give 4 ticktes for $10 if you are on the list. So hurry and get over there and add your name.

    See you next fall.

    10 Year Anniversary Celebration 2013

This has been an amazing journey building my empire. We have celebrated 10 years of empowering and connecting women all across the world.

These women are the reason why we keep going on and moving forward. They are the reason why when I want to throw in the towel, I don't! I love what I do and I won't trade it in for anything.

When I was planning this celebration there were so many challenges thrown at me. However, I beat them down and we had an awesome and fun and exciting event.

The guest were long time friends that I met via social media. My family came out to show support and they really had fun. It took them a while to understand what I was doing with Real Sisters Rising. But once they did, they have been to every main event, they tell their friends, even the kids tell everyone they know.  I get butterflies every time I think of the support I get from my family.

I just want to Thank every woman and man that has ever support our mission and vision, every woman and man who have came out to our events online and offline.

We have many more years ahead of us and we are not going to stop. Keep Rising!

    A message from ShaChena
What does it mean to you to be alive today to see President Obama sworn in for a second term?

To me and my family it's a great day for us to be here to witness such an awesome event that we will be able to write in our journals for our future family members to read about. They will read about how proud the majority of our country was to have such an awesome President and his phenomenal wife 1st lady Michelle Obama. Michelle is a great role model for women and young ladies.

My daughters are so proud to be able to have conversations with their friends about the 1st time Obama ran and the events that took place during the last 4 years and to be here to witness the 2nd term. It makes me a proud mom to see the excitement on my children face about something so important.

Unfortunately, I am unable to physically be there to witness the public swearing in,  however, I will be watching at home with my family and friends and we will make and event of it with a big dinner and fun. Will you be watching?

    Keep Rising,
